Aspirus Houghton Clinic will open a new Walk-In Clinic on March 2, 2026, to provide care for non-life-threatening conditions without the need for an appointment. The clinic aims to offer quick access for minor illnesses and injuries to residents of Houghton and nearby areas. It will operate daily, including holidays, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at 1000 Cedar Street in Houghton, Michigan.

“Our goal is to be here for our patients when they need us most,” said Deanna Hayes, MSN, RN, Director – Michigan Region Clinics, Aspirus Health. “The Walk-In Clinic provides reassurance that patients can receive prompt, high-quality care close to home for unexpected health concerns.”

The Walk-In Clinic is designed for medical issues that require same-day attention but are not emergencies. Services include evaluations, minor procedures, and basic lab testing or imaging as needed.

Commonly treated conditions at the new clinic include allergies, bladder infections, colds and flu symptoms, cuts and bruises, earaches, fevers and headaches, insect bites, minor burns or sunburns, pink eye or other mild eye irritations, rashes and skin problems, sinus infections, sore throats, sprains or strains, stomachaches and upper respiratory infections.

Patients with severe symptoms such as chest pain or signs of stroke are advised to seek emergency care immediately by visiting an emergency department or calling 911.

Walk-in clinics generally have shorter wait times and lower costs compared to emergency room visits.

“The opening of the Walk-In Clinic reflects Aspirus’ continued commitment to providing accessible patient-centered care for our community,” said Mark Randell, VP- Clinic Operations at Aspirus Health.

In addition to walk-in services, Aspirus Houghton Clinic has recently added a drive-through pharmacy for further convenience.
