The Community Blood Center will host two blood drives in Wisconsin Rapids this May, offering residents an opportunity to support patients across the region, according to an April 30 announcement. The events are scheduled for Monday, May 18 from 2 to 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, May 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., both at the former East Junior High School at 311 Lincoln St., in the Music/Band Room. Parking is available at the end of S. Sixth St., across from the baseball diamond.

Organizers say every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood, and a single donation can help provide lifesaving care for multiple people. Appointments are appreciated and can be made by calling (800) 280‑4102.
