Steve Cortes, a senior political advisor for CatholicVote, has described Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Susan Crawford as a “radical” with a history of extreme positions. He specifically highlighted her past work with Planned Parenthood. Cortes made these remarks in a March 5 post on the social media platform X.
“Wisconsin citizens: don’t sleep on your upcoming state Supreme Court race,” said Cortes. “Susan Crawford is a radical with a long record of extreme positions, including working for Planned Parenthood. She would “legislate from the bench.”
According to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Susan Crawford has a documented history of supporting abortion rights and collaborating with organizations like Planned Parenthood. In her legal career, she represented Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, advocating for abortion rights and challenging restrictive abortion laws in the state.
In an interview with Milwaukee’s WISN-TV, Crawford said, “I’m proud of the work that I did as a lawyer in our courts fighting for people’s rights, including Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin and their doctors, to protect their right to deliver health care services to women without having to be in fear of felony prosecution for doing it.”
Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin (PPAWI) has endorsed Judge Susan Crawford for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. They cite her long-standing commitment to supporting abortion rights as a key reason for their endorsement. Her legal career, including her work with Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, has focused on defending access to abortion.
Kelsey Pritchard, Political Communications Director at Women Speak Out PAC, said that “Susan Crawford’s track record shows she is an extreme abortion activist, not an impartial judge.” Pritchard further said that Crawford “has worked hand in glove with the big abortion industry – led by Planned Parenthood – to wage lawfare against commonsense safeguards for women and babies,” according to Life News.
