A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Dodge County Election Department in Wisconsin regarding the upcoming spring election candidates on February 5, 2025. The request was made by The Sconi, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

The information requested includes a list of all candidates running for office in the upcoming election. Specific details requested for each candidate include their first, middle, and last names; the office they are running for; jurisdiction of the office; and party affiliation.

In addition to these details, The Sconi has also requested contact information for each candidate. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.

As a media organization, we at The Sconi believe that access to public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we have requested a fee waiver as a media professional.

We will continue to keep the public informed as we await a response from the Dodge County Election Department.
