A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Florence County Election Department in Wisconsin on February 5, 2025. The request, made by our team at The Sconi, seeks comprehensive information about all candidates running in the upcoming election.

The details requested under the Wisconsin Open Records Law include each candidate’s full name and the office they are vying for. Additionally, we have asked for the jurisdiction of the office and the party affiliation of each candidate.

To ensure thorough coverage of these local governmental affairs, we have also requested all available contact information for each candidate. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.

As a media organization committed to providing accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we rely heavily on access to public records. This allows us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

We believe that as a media organization disseminating information to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver for this request. We eagerly await a response from the Florence County Election Department and will continue our efforts to provide comprehensive coverage of local government affairs.
