As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at The Sconi have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for records related to the upcoming election.

Our request specifically asks for a list of all candidates running in the forthcoming election. We have asked for detailed information about each candidate including their first, middle and last names, the office they are running for, jurisdiction of the office and their party affiliation.

In addition to this, we have also requested contact information for each candidate which includes their address, phone number and email address.

We believe that access to public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver as per standard practices.

We look forward to receiving this information from the Grant County Election Department so that we can continue our work in providing comprehensive coverage of local government affairs.
