FOIA Request to Jackson County Election Department Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025. The Sconi, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, has sent an official request for records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law.

We at The Sconi have asked for a list of all candidates running in the upcoming election. This list should include each candidate’s first, middle, and last name; the office they are running for; the jurisdiction of that office; and their party affiliation.

In addition to this basic information about the candidates, we have also requested contact information for each candidate. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.

As a media organization, we believe in holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information, we have requested a fee waiver as a media professional.

We await a response from the Jackson County Election Department regarding this request.
