FOIA Request to Pierce County Election Department Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.

As a part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at The Sconi have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Pierce County Election Department. Our request specifically asks for records of all candidates running in the upcoming election.

We are seeking information that includes each candidate’s first, middle, and last name; the office they are running for; the jurisdiction of that office; and their party affiliation. We have also requested contact information for each candidate, including their address, phone number, and email address.

Our mission at The Sconi is to gather and report news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities, which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As media professionals involved in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver.

We look forward to sharing this important information with our readers as soon as it becomes available.
