FOIA Request to Waukesha County Election Department Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.

The Sconi, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, has sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law for records pertaining to the upcoming election. The request was specifically for a list of all candidates running in the election.

We are seeking detailed information about each candidate including their first, middle and last names, the office they are running for, the jurisdiction of that office and their party affiliation. In addition to this, we have also requested contact information for each candidate which includes their address, phone number and email address.

As an organization dedicated to transparency and holding public institutions accountable, we believe access to these public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. We also mentioned our eligibility for a fee waiver as a media professional due to our role in disseminating information.

This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts at The Sconi to provide thorough coverage of local government affairs and ensure the public stays informed about important developments in their community.
