FOIA Request to Waukesha County Register Of Deeds Regarding Property Sales Records/Transactions on May 2, 2025.

As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at The Sconi have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Waukesha County Register Of Deeds. Our request seeks access to records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., specifically focusing on property sales transactions.

We are requesting a list of all properties and their most recent sale, along with all available metadata related to these sales. This includes crucial details such as the Recorded Instrument ID, Transaction Date, Transaction Amount, Transaction Type, Buyer Name, and Seller Name. Our aim is to ensure transparency and accountability in public institutions by providing the public with detailed insights into property transactions within Waukesha County.

In our capacity as media professionals dedicated to gathering and reporting news, we have also requested a fee waiver. This waiver is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities effectively. Additionally, we are supported by The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization that aids media companies and advocacy groups in investigating governmental agencies through Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws.

For more information about our supporting organization and its mission to enhance government transparency, please visit [https://stopsecrecy.org/about/](https://stopsecrecy.org/about/). We look forward to bringing further clarity and insight into local governmental affairs through this request.
