Gwen Moore, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Wisconsin’s 4th district since 2005, has taken to social media to express her views on federal funding and workforce cuts. Her posts provide a personal perspective on the impact of these policies.

On March 5, 2025, Moore shared her personal experience with Medicaid: “I personally never thought I would be in need of Medicaid, but my Multiple Sclerosis thought differently. It is only because of the federal funds to Medicaid that I am able to pay a reasonable premium to qualify for services.”

In another post on the same day, she addressed concerns regarding budget cuts affecting veterans’ care: “I am a federal employee working for the VA and my husband is a USMC disabled veteran… We understand what cuts to the federal workforce and VA budgets means and how the effects will trickle down to affect the care and benefits veterans receive.”

Later that day, Moore also reflected on her past role at USDA: “I was an attorney for the USDA up until Feb 14th, working to support the Forest Service and Natural Resource Conservation Service, which provides benefits directly to farmers. We thought USDA would be safe from these cuts… I was in active litigation when I was fired.”
