A Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold at Hometown Gas on 3908 S. 76th St. in Milwaukee for the August 9, 2025 drawing, according to the Wisconsin Lottery. The winning ticket matched four out of five numbers—7, 14, 23, 24, and 60—and also had the correct Powerball number, which was 14.

There were a total of 28 $50,000 winners nationwide in Saturday’s drawing, with one winner from Wisconsin. In total, Wisconsin recorded 9,939 Powerball winners from this draw with prizes ranging from $4 to $50,000. The game offers nine prize levels.

No player matched all five numbers plus the Powerball in this draw. As a result, the jackpot for Monday night’s drawing has grown to an estimated $501 million. So far this year, there have been four Powerball jackpot wins: on January 18 in Oregon ($328.5 million), March 29 in California ($526.5 million), April 26 in Kentucky ($167.3 million), and May 31 again in California ($204.5 million).

Retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a two percent incentive on those tickets’ values up to a maximum of $100,000.

Winners have up to 180 days after the draw date to claim their prizes. Details about claiming winnings can be found at https://www.wilottery.com/. Players can also use the official Wisconsin Lottery mobile app—available through both Apple’s App Store and Google Play—to check their tickets.

Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 9:59 p.m., and tickets must be purchased before 9:00 p.m. on draw days to participate. Each play costs $2; players may add the Power Play feature for an extra dollar per play.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are one in more than two hundred ninety-two million (1:292,201,338). The odds of winning a $50,000 prize are one in over nine hundred thousand (1:913,130).
