Rep. Gwen Moore, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Wisconsin’s 4th district, has expressed strong opinions on recent political developments through a series of tweets. Moore, who has been in office since 2005 and previously served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and Senate, addressed issues concerning economic policies and social welfare programs.

On January 28, 2025, Rep. Moore criticized a new plan she described as detrimental to the economy and U.S. global competitiveness. She stated: “Another chaotic and stupid scheme that will hurt the economy and US global competitiveness… Democrats will use all options to fight back and defend hardworking Americans… If Republicans in Congress give a damn about their constituents, they should join us.”

Later that day, she highlighted the importance of funding child care programs for low-income families from her perspective as a Head Start parent. She tweeted: “As a Head Start parent, I know how important funding child care programs for low income families is… Losing that access would force poor parents out of the workforce… Donald Trump doesn’t care about hardworking families and children in need.”

In another tweet posted on January 28, 2025, Rep. Moore addressed members of the House GOP directly regarding tax cuts for billionaires while criticizing what she perceives as neglect towards poorer constituents’ needs: “HEY @HouseGOP! I know you’re busy at a retreat in Trump-land plotting tax cuts for billionaires… your Mad King is freezing funding YOUR POOREST CONSTITUENTS NEED TO SURVIVE… Get your heads out of the golf course sand traps and PROTECT THEM.”
