She stated that “In the CR they passed yesterday, Republicans have made it clear they intend to choke off the Social Security Administration and end vital customer service functions that millions of elderly and disabled Americans rely on to access their benefits.“
Later that day, she expressed further concern about potential impacts on SSA services: “Turning off the phones at the Social Security Administration would put millions at risk of being unable to get help accessing their earned benefits. DOGE thinks seniors and disabled people don’t deserve to speak with a real person if they miss a check.“
