Gwen Moore, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Wisconsin’s 4th district since 2005, has recently shared her concerns on social media regarding recent legislative actions. Born in Racine, Wisconsin, and an alumna of Marquette University, Moore has been an active voice in the political arena.

On March 12, 2025, Rep. Gwen Moore criticized Republican lawmakers for their recent actions concerning the Social Security Administration (SSA). She stated that “In the CR they passed yesterday, Republicans have made it clear they intend to choke off the Social Security Administration and end vital customer service functions that millions of elderly and disabled Americans rely on to access their benefits.

Later that day, she expressed further concern about potential impacts on SSA services: “Turning off the phones at the Social Security Administration would put millions at risk of being unable to get help accessing their earned benefits. DOGE thinks seniors and disabled people don’t deserve to speak with a real person if they miss a check.

Additionally, Rep. Moore addressed issues related to education funding. On March 12, she highlighted the importance of the Department of Education (DOE) by stating that “The Department of Education provides: Academic services to first generation college students Funding to schools with high rates of poverty Resources to students with special needs The attacks on the DOE are a direct attack on our children’s futures.
