Rep. Gwen Moore, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Wisconsin’s 4th district, recently expressed concerns and critiques on social media regarding sensitive information access and trade policies. Her comments were posted over two consecutive days in early February 2025.

On February 1, Rep. Moore raised alarms about privacy and security issues concerning personal data access. She tweeted, “An unelected foreign billionaire now has access to YOUR social security number and bank account info.” She questioned the necessity and authority behind such actions, stating her intent to demand answers.

The following day, on February 2, Rep. Moore addressed trade policy under President Donald Trump. In one tweet, she criticized the tariffs imposed by the administration, noting a lack of coherent strategy for aiding Americans: “Disconnected from legitimate trade policy, Donald Trump’s tariffs lack a real plan to help Americans.” She highlighted potential economic impacts, warning that car ownership costs could rise significantly due to proposed tariffs on countries like Canada and Mexico.

Later that day, she further elaborated on the issue by stating that Trump’s policies have led to an adverse trade situation for the country. According to her tweet: “Donald Trump has plunged our country into a dangerous trade war and the American people will bear the cost at the checkout counter.” She criticized his unfulfilled promise of reducing living costs within his short time in office.
