GOP Consultant Luke Thompson said U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc.) allows unregulated financial investments from her girlfriend who is a private wealth advisor. He made the comments on August 2 on X.

“Tammy Baldwin spends her weekends in Manhattan with her partner, Maria Brisbane. Brisbane is a private wealth advisor to the ultra-rich,” said Thompson. “She routinely invests her clients’ money in industries that Baldwin regulates. Because they aren’t legally married, this goes undisclosed.”

“A remotely curious or competent press would be hounding both of them for this naked conflict of interest, because they’re running an insider trading scheme for some of the wealthiest people on earth out of the Senate Appropriations, Commerce, and HELP Committees,” he said. “It’s pathetic that a crass appeal to identity will shield this shabby crook from scrutiny. But there’s a reason the public hates the press in 2024. They’ve earned it.”

According to the New York Times, Maria Brisbane was previously married to a man named W. C. Henderson.

Maria Brisbane retweeted Sen. Baldwin’s posts three times on her personal X account.

Sen. Tammy Baldwin bought a $1.3 million rooftop condo in Washington D.C. that she shares with Maria Brisbane according to Wisconsin Right Now. As of 2023, the senator had real estate holdings that were worth over $2 million.

Sen. Tammy Baldwin characterized herself in the post that Luke Thompson responded to as, “this childless cat lady is a U.S. Senator.”
