After Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wis.) got over the coronavirus, she says she was cleared to travel to D.C. to vote in the House Speaker election.

Moore has been urging constituents to follow stay-at-home orders.

A coronavirus resource guide is posted on her site, which states:

“In efforts to keep our communities safe, I strongly encourage everyone to adhere to Governor Evers' "Safer-at-Home" order and Mayor Barrett's "Stay-at-Home" order, practice social distancing, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, wash your hands frequently and stay informed on the most updated guidance from public health officials. Together, through all of our efforts, we will get through this.”

During her phone interview with Washington Journal, Moore said she should have opted for an absentee ballot during Wisconsin's Primary Day.

“It only occurred to me at the last minute that I had better vote absentee this time because the pandemic seems to be reaching an apex,” Moore commented.

“You shouldn't have to choose between your right to vote and you’re right to live and this is where we are,” Moore continued.

Moore had previously stated that she has been following orders from her doctor and isolating herself.

“I tested positive for COVID-19,” she wrote on Twitter. “I am following guidance from my doctor and am isolating from others. I am thankful to be feeling well. And I do not foresee this disrupting my work for Wisconsin’s Fourth.”

“I encourage every person to continue taking measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a mask, washing your hands, and practicing social distancing,” Moore added.
