CITY OF SUN PRAIRIE: All Public Health Orders Lifted in Dane County

Vaccination

City of Sun Prairie issued the following announcement on June 3.

Dane County continues to lead the state with high vaccination rates, with 76% of eligible residents (people 12 and older) having at least one dose. Dane County reports that nearly half of the 12-15 year old population has received one dose of vaccine, after just three weeks of eligibility. Within the Dane County population, 57.6% have completed the vaccination series.

Dane County reported averaging 86 cases per day on April 10. As of today, the county is seeing fewer than 20 cases per day and these lower rates are consistent in all age groups. Over the past month, hospitalizations have been stable or declining, with an average of about 25 people in hospitals with COVID-19 countywide.

Because not everyone is able to get vaccinated, particularly kids younger than 12, Public Health recommends that unvaccinated people continue to wear masks in indoor public spaces. In addition, healthcare settings and public transportation will continue to require masks. Other businesses or organizations can choose to continue masking policies as they desire.

Public Health will continue to conduct contact tracing when a person is diagnosed with COVID-19, and isolation and quarantine requirements will remain in place to prevent the spread of disease. It is encouraged for anyone who has not yet gotten vaccinated, to make their appointment. You can schedule a vaccination appointment by clicking here.

For those who are not comfortable with in-person services, you can still access city services virtually and online . If you are entering into City buildings and prefer to wear a mask, you are welcome to do so. If you would prefer staff wear a mask while assisting you, please let us know and we will be happy to do so. We will continue to follow Public Health Madison & Dane County.
