October 2017: Brooklyn experienced a 10.3% drop in median home prices

The median sale price of a home sold in October 2017 in Brooklyn fell by $19,600 while total sales remained unchanged with three homes sold, according to BlockShopper.com.

In October 2017, there were three homes sold, with a median sale price of $169,900 - a 10.3% decrease over the $189,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were three homes sold in Brooklyn in October 2016, as well.

The median sales tax in Brooklyn for 2017 was $4,086. In 2016, the median sales tax was $4,162. This marks an decrease of 1.8%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.4%.
