August 2017: Home prices in Brooklyn increased

The median sale price of a home sold in August 2017 in Brooklyn rose by $118,450 while total sales increased by 100%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In August 2017, there were four homes sold, with a median sale price of $209,500 - a 130.1% increase over the $91,050 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were two homes sold in Brooklyn in August 2016.

The median sales tax in Brooklyn for 2017 was $4,086. In 2016, the median sales tax was $4,162. This marks an decrease of 1.8%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2%.
