For voters who find themselves unexpectedly hospitalized close to an election, there is usually a specific deadline by which they can request an absentee ballot. This allows them to exercise their voting rights despite sudden medical emergencies.
The Wisconsin Elections Commission is a bipartisan regulatory agency that administers and enforces election laws in the state. It was established in 2016 alongside the Wisconsin Ethics Commission, replacing the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board (GAB).
