Dana Hanson, a registered nurse at Black River Health (BRH), has been awarded the DAISY Award. This award recognizes her dedication to compassionate patient care and clinical excellence in the obstetrics team.

The DAISY Award was established by the Daisy Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. His family created this award to honor nurses who provided exceptional care during his illness with an autoimmune disease. The award is now given nationwide to nurses who demonstrate outstanding commitment to their patients, embodying values such as care, compassion, and professionalism.

Julia Smith, Vice President of Patient Care Services at Black River Health, expressed her satisfaction with Hanson's recognition: “We are beyond thrilled to see Dana receive this well-deserved recognition. The DAISY Award is an important reminder of the incredible impact nurses have on patient care, and Dana’s commitment to excellence serves as an inspiration to all of us.”

Hanson's work continues to inspire both her colleagues and patients, making her a valuable member of the BRH team. Those interested in nominating a nurse for the DAISY Award can find nomination forms on the Daisy Foundation website.
