Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital has announced an expansion of its Urgent Care hours, now offering services seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The hospital aims to provide timely treatment for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries without the need for an appointment.
Ra'Chell Lucas, Nursing Director at Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital, stated, "Expanding Urgent Care hours means more flexibility and convenience for our community. Whether it’s a weekend fever or a sprain after work, we’re here to offer safe, timely care without an ER visit."
Urgent Care is recommended for conditions that require prompt attention but are not life-threatening. This includes allergies, pink eye, minor cuts, rashes, colds, flu, sprains, and ear infections. Services available include basic lab tests, imaging, and minor procedures.
Lucas added that "Urgent Care is perfect for those in-between situations—too serious to wait but not serious enough for the ER." She emphasized that symptoms like chest pain or significant head trauma should be directed to emergency services by calling 911 or visiting the nearest Emergency Department.
In addition to Urgent Care services at the hospital's main location on North Shore Drive, Aspirus Rhinelander Clinic – Chippewa Drive offers Walk-In Care daily for minor conditions such as colds and minor injuries.
