Glenn Grothman, Representative of Wisconsin, said that the One Big Beautiful Bill Act will support American manufacturing, safeguard jobs, and strengthen economic growth in his district. The statement was made on X.
"The OBBBA protects American manufacturing," said Glenn Sholes Grothman, U.S. Representative from Wisconsin. "I represent the nation's largest manufacturing district, so this is personal. This is about safeguarding jobs, wages, and America's economic future. Let's put American workers first."
According to Oxford Economics, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act is designed to boost American manufacturing by expanding tax credits and removing regulations. However, critics warn it may cut clean energy incentives and undermine U.S. competitiveness by prioritizing traditional industry over emerging sectors.
As reported by the U.S. Federal Reserve, Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District supported approximately 465,700 manufacturing jobs as of April 2025. Manufacturing remains one of the largest employment sectors and is key to the district’s economy and workforce stability.
The U.S. Federal Reserve indicates that Wisconsin’s manufacturing GDP rose from $58.6 billion in 2020 to $73.7 billion in 2024, marking a 25.8% increase. Despite this growth, manufacturing employment has remained mostly flat, suggesting rising productivity and the effects of automation statewide.
As described by Congress.gov, Grothman is a Republican who has represented Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District since 2015. He previously served in the state legislature and is known for promoting skills-based education, tax relief for manufacturers, and limiting federal regulation.
