Western Technical College announced on May 4 the hiring of Bobbi Jo Ulrich as its new head volleyball coach. Ulrich brings nearly twenty years of coaching experience to the Cavaliers program.
The appointment is significant for Western’s athletics department, as it aims to strengthen its volleyball program and foster student-athlete development. The college highlighted Ulrich’s background in both high school and club volleyball, noting her commitment to building competitive teams and a positive culture.
Ulrich currently serves as co-owner and director of Elevate Volleyball Club, where she has helped develop athletes who compete at the national level. She has also held leadership roles at Tomah High School from 2022 to 2024 and continues as head coach at New Lisbon High School. Her coaching philosophy focuses on accountability, fearless competition, and preparing athletes for success beyond sports.

Ulrich began her coaching career in La Crosse working with park and recreation athletes before moving into high school and club positions. She is known for connecting with players through a hands-on approach aimed at building resilient young women ready for life after athletics.
As she steps into her new role leading the Cavaliers volleyball team, Ulrich plans to focus on growth, competitiveness, and pride within the program.
