The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) has announced the certification of the 2025 election results for the Wisconsin Cherry Board. Chris Lautenbach from Fish Creek and Jim Seaquist from Ellison Bay have been elected to serve three-year terms on the board, commencing on July 1, 2025.

The Wisconsin Cherry Board is made up of five at-large members. These members are tasked with administering the state’s Cherry Marketing Order. Their responsibilities include overseeing the collection and allocation of approximately $60,000 in assessment fees paid by cherry growers across Wisconsin. The funds collected are directed towards supporting the cherry industry through various initiatives such as research, education, and promotion efforts aimed at enhancing the market presence of cherries grown in Wisconsin.

DATCP is responsible for conducting elections for commodity marketing boards within Wisconsin. For those interested in learning more about these boards and their functions, further information can be accessed through DATCP’s resources.
