CITY OF MONONA: Police Chief Brian Chaney Austin Takes Oath of Office

City of Monona issued the following announcement on June 1.

Brian Chaney Austin is officially Monona's new Chief of Police.  Chief Chaney Austin took his oath of office on Tuesday morning, June 1, at the Monona Library.  

Chief Chaney Austin has 20 years experience in police service. Prior to coming to Monona, he held several leaderships positions in the Madison Police Department, including Captain of Police in Traffic and Specialized Services, Lieutenant of Police – Central District, Sergeant of Madison Police Department Gang Unit, and a Sergeant of Patrol Services. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Illinois State University.

If you see the Chief out and about, stop and give him a warm Monona Welcome!
