A recent survey of potential Wisconsin voters conducted by VCreek AMG LLC indicates a close contest for the 2022 midterm elections, with voters' primary concerns heading into the midterms being increased prices and reducing crime.

In the survey, 31% of respondents who were asked if they would vote for a Republican candidate or a Democratic candidate indicated they would vote for either party, while 34% of Wisconsin voters said they would wait to see who wins the nomination.

Participants in the survey were split into five groups: Red, lean red, lean blue, regular blue and strong blue.

Approximately 60% of "strong blue" voters said they would vote for a Democrat, while 20% indicated they would vote for a Republican; 55% of "lean red" voters indicated they would vote for a Republican, with just under 20% saying they would vote for a Democrat.

The poll also queried potential Wisconsin voters regarding their biggest concerns for the upcoming midterm elections. Inflation and reducing crime tied for first place, with 34% of voters stating that the most pressing issue for politicians to address is inflation and prices, followed by crime control at 26%.

When asked about their second most pressing issue, Wisconsin voters again picked inflation and reducing crime, at 28% and 23%, respectively.

Additionally, survey responses strongly favored allowing people to make their own decisions regarding how to manage the risk of the COVID-19 delta variant, with 51% supporting individual decision-making and 44% supporting restrictions similar to those in place last year during the spring and summer of 2020.

Additionally, a recent Marquette University survey showed that 54% of Wisconsin voters believe the economy has grown worse over the last year, with just 24% believing it has been better.

According to the poll, 48% of respondents disapproved of President Joe Biden's management of the economy, while 46% approved.

When the survey was taken in October 2020, 51% of Wisconsinites expressed approval of former President Donald Trump's economic management.
