Brooklyn home prices fell in the first half of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2018 in Brooklyn fell by $1,200 while total sales decreased by 18.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2018, there were 13 homes sold, with a median sale price of $190,000 - a 0.6% decrease over the $191,200 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 16 homes sold in Brooklyn in the first half of 2017.

The median sales tax in Brooklyn for 2018 was $4,335. In 2017, the median sales tax was $4,086. This marks an increase of 6.1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.3%.
