Madison home prices rose in April 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in April 2019 in Madison rose by $11,000 while total sales decreased by 2.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In April 2019, there were 478 homes sold, with a median sale price of $261,000 - a 4.4% increase over the $250,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 491 homes sold in Madison in April 2018.

The median sales tax in Madison for 2019 was $5,538. In 2018, the median sales tax was $5,191. This marks an increase of 6.7%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.1%.
