Madison home prices rose in January 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in January 2019 in Madison rose by $25,150 while total sales decreased by 16.1%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In January 2019, there were 339 homes sold, with a median sale price of $247,500 - a 11.3% increase over the $222,350 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 404 homes sold in Madison in January 2018.

The median sales tax in Madison for 2019 was $5,538. In 2018, the median sales tax was $5,191. This marks an increase of 6.7%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.2%.
