December 2018: Home prices in Brooklyn fell

The median sale price of a home sold in December 2018 in Brooklyn fell by $109,250 while total sales decreased by 66.7%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In December 2018, there were two homes sold, with a median sale price of $79,500 - a 57.9% decrease over the $188,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were six homes sold in Brooklyn in December 2017.

The median sales tax in Brooklyn for 2018 was $4,335. In 2017, the median sales tax was $4,086. This marks an increase of 6.1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 5.5%.
