September 2018: Madison experienced a 4.4% increase in median home prices

The median sale price of a home sold in September 2018 in Madison rose by $10,450 while total sales decreased by 10.2%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In September 2018, there were 447 homes sold, with a median sale price of $248,200 - a 4.4% increase over the $237,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 498 homes sold in Madison in September 2017.

The median sales tax in Madison for 2018 was $5,191. In 2017, the median sales tax was $5,028. This marks an increase of 3.2%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.1%.
