Madison home prices rose in May 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in May 2018 in Madison rose by $19,500 while total sales decreased by 8.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In May 2018, there were 581 homes sold, with a median sale price of $249,500 - a 8.5% increase over the $230,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 637 homes sold in Madison in May 2017.

The median sales tax in Madison for 2018 was $5,191. In 2017, the median sales tax was $5,028. This marks an increase of 3.2%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.1%.
