FOIA Request Sent to Marquette County Election Department Regarding Ballot Counting Methods on October 30, 2024

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Marquette County Election Department in Wisconsin on October 30, 2024. The request was made by The Sconi, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

The FOIA request specifically asked for a list of methods being used by the department to count ballots for the upcoming election. If manual counting is employed, the department is also asked to provide an estimated number of people who will be working on election night.

Given their role in disseminating information, The Sconi believes they are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
