Rep. Gwen Moore, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Wisconsin's 4th district, has recently shared her thoughts on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Moore, who has been in office since 2005 and has a background in state politics and education from Marquette University, continues to voice her opinions on matters ranging from historical remembrance to current political strategies.
On January 27, 2025, Rep. Gwen Moore took to social media to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust. She stated, "Today, we honor the memory of the six million men, women, and children who perished at the hands of hate and intolerance in the Holocaust. Let us never forget their stories and continue to fight antisemitism in all forms."
Later that day, Moore expressed concern over alleged political maneuvers by former President Donald Trump and Republican leaders. In her tweet posted on January 27, 2025, she claimed that "Donald Trump and Republicans are at his golf course plotting how they can make devastating cuts to Medicaid to help out billionaires." She further criticized what she described as "handouts to Wall Street" while suggesting that health care cuts were being discussed at a GOP retreat.
The following day, on January 28, 2025, Rep. Moore addressed constitutional concerns regarding fiscal powers. She tweeted about potential actions by MAGA affiliates stating that "The Constitution unambiguously gives Congress the power of the purse, not the president." Moore warned against what she termed an "unconstitutional move straight out of the Project 2025 playbook," cautioning about its possible extensive repercussions.
