Scott Walker, the former Governor of Wisconsin, accused Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Susan Crawford of allowing an "evil child rapist" to evade a lengthy prison sentence. Walker made this statement in a social media post on March 6.
"Susan Crawford could've given this evil child rapist 60 years," said Walker, Former Wisconsin Governor. "She let him walk after a short sentence. Catch-and-Release Crawford is Wrong for Wisconsin!"
In 2022, Curtis O’Brien was found guilty of repeated sexual assault of the same child, involving at least three violations of first-degree sexual assault, classified as a Class B felony under Wisconsin law. According to WisconsinRightNow, although bail was initially set at $10,000, it was reduced to a $500 signature bond by Crawford. She sentenced O’Brien to four years in prison with six years of extended supervision. However, due to time served, he reportedly only spent two years in prison. In 2020, while out on bail, Crawford allowed O’Brien to reside with his father across the street from an elementary school in Black Earth, Wisconsin.
