A winning $50,000 Powerball ticket was recently sold in Appleton, Wisconsin. The ticket was purchased at True North Energy on 120 S. McCarthy Rd. for the April 19, 2025, drawing. The ticket matched four out of five numbers, in addition to the Powerball number.
Powerball.com noted that there were 11 winning tickets of $50,000 or more across the United States from the Saturday drawing. The estimated jackpot for the following Powerball drawing is set at $139 million.
So far in 2025, Wisconsin has seen seven Powerball tickets worth $50,000 or more, including two tickets this month.
Manager of True North Energy, Melody Stoltz, expressed her delight upon hearing about the sale of the winning ticket, stating, "What a great day. This is fantastic. It wasn’t that long ago we sold a winning $100,000 scratch ticket. I hope this win is a local winner."
Winners have a timeframe of 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize. Information on claiming prizes can be found on the Wisconsin Lottery website. Players also have the option to verify their tickets using the Lottery's mobile app, available on both the App Store and Google Play.
Retailers in Wisconsin who sell winning tickets over $599 are eligible for a two percent incentive under the Retailer Performance Program, with a cap at $100,000.
Powerball drawings are held three times a week, on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. Tickets must be purchased by 9:00 p.m. on drawing days. Each Powerball ticket costs $2, with an additional $1 required for the Power Play feature.
The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot stand at 1 in 292,201,338, while the odds of winning a $50,000 prize are 1 in 913,130.
