Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital has been recognized with the Distinction Award for Excellence in Wound Care. The award, given by HEALOGICS, acknowledges the hospital's outstanding performance in patient satisfaction and wound healing outcomes. Aspirus St. Luke’s Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center also received this recognition.

The award is presented to centers that meet strict quality benchmarks set by HEALOGICS. Over the past year, Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids achieved a patient satisfaction score of 95.81 percent and a comprehensive healing rate of 79.50 percent. Their outlier rate was just 6.72 percent, indicating effective care for patients with wounds lasting longer than 14 weeks.

“This award is a powerful acknowledgment of our team’s commitment and expertise,” said Athena Boardman, RN, Clinical Program Director at Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital. “It affirms our mission to improve our patients’ quality of life through compassionate, individualized care."

Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids provides specialized treatment for chronic wounds as part of the HEALOGICS network of over 600 centers nationwide. The clinic uses evidence-based practices to heal patients within 14 weeks when possible and offers advanced treatments like hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

The clinic's success is attributed to its dedicated care team, including new member Lydia Caldwell, PA, alongside Richard Wessling, M.D., and Ridhwi Mukerji, M.D., who bring over 20 years of combined experience in wound care.

This recognition encourages the team to continue advancing care standards while assuring patients they are in capable hands.
