Dr. Anthony's Fauci's management of the COVID-19 pandemic has been a "miserable failure," U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) tweeted.
"With over 800,000 Americans dead and the human toll from Fauci’s shutdowns, I have no idea why anyone would ask, much less listen to, flip-flopping Fauci on how to deal with the pandemic,” the senator wrote. “It’s nice Dr. Fauci is finally recognizing the danger of his ill advised shutdowns that didn’t work. Unfortunately, the human toll of the shutdowns he engineered is incalculable. His management of the pandemic has been a miserable failure.”
A freelance writer, Drew Holden, has tweeted repeatedly about Fauci's reversal on COVID-19 mitigation efforts, Fox News reported.
Fauci originally said masks were not effective and dismissed the possibility that the virus originated in a lab in China but has changed both positions as the pandemic progressed, Fox said.
Fauci also lied about the fact that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) was involved in funding coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Vanity Fair reported in October.
Government mandated lockdowns and the closing of schools during the pandemic has led to more fear, stress, anxiety, depression, alcohol and drug abuse, loss of learning, and poor physical activity and sleeping habits among children, a Unicef report found.
