Wisconsin State Sen. Julian Bradley (R-Franklin) has responded to a poll demonstrating that most Americans support domestic energy production.

The Trafalgar Group recently issued a nationwide poll asking voters what country they most support the replacement of oil coming from, now that President Joe Biden has banned oil from Russia.

Approximately 76.5% of voters said they support the new surplus oil coming from U.S. oil-producing states like Alaska, Pennsylvania and Texas. Despite this, Biden is avoiding domestic oil production. Throughout 2021 he issued executives orders regulating the U.S. oil industry, believing fighting climate change to be the higher priority, CNBC reported.

“Between President Biden and Gov. (Tony) Evers, Wisconsinites face a triple threat of runaway inflation, international disaster and expensive Green New Deal-style policies," Bradley told The Sconi. "Americans want domestic energy production for the strength of our economy and security. We need leaders who will fight to make our energy sources reliable and affordable — not the Biden–Evers agenda that results in foreign dependence and radically rising costs.”

Some experts advocate for a balanced approach, pursuing both energy independence and relief from climate change.

"While it’s unclear what lies ahead as Russia invades Ukraine, we know one thing for sure: American energy is a positive force in difficult times, helping to provide stability for the U.S. and our allies," Mike Sommers, president and CEO of The American Petroleum Institution (API), said, API reported. "We have the technology, innovation and resources here in the U.S. to meet this moment while at the same time furthering progress toward our shared climate goals.”

The national survey was carried out from March 7 to March 9. It consisted of likely general election voters and received 1,080 responses. The margin of error for the poll was under 3%. The partisan breakdown for the poll was 39.3% were Democratic, 35.6% were Republican and 25.1% Independent.

Canada was the most popular proposed international source of oil with 14.1% of voters supporting it. The Trafalgar Group is based in Atlanta and was founded by Robert Cahaly, a senior strategist and pollster.
