The grassroots organization Americans for Prosperity recently took to platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to criticize Biden's economic policy, commonly referred to as Bidenomics. In its post, the group shared a video compilation featuring various news clips illustrating the economic struggles faced by Americans.

The clips covered issues like surging mortgage rates, escalating gas prices, rising grocery and housing costs as well as poll results indicating that over 70% of Americans believe the country is moving in the wrong direction, followed by a clip of White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre saying, "That's Bidenomics in action."

On social media, Americans for Prosperity emphasized the impact that Bidenomics is having on citizens, saying, "@POTUS keeps bragging about #Bidenomics, while the reality of his bad economic policy is anything but victorious."

Based on recent surveys, 64% of Americans perceive the U.S. economy as struggling, with 56% expressing uncertainty and a mere 11% believing it is expanding, according to CBS News. President Biden's overall approval rating has seen a significant decline, dropping from 62% in 2021 to 40% this year, CBS reported.

Similarly, his approval rating on handling the economy alone has decreased from 60% to 34%, according to the news outlet. Regarding their financial status, CBS said, 52% of Americans reported staying in place, while 35% admitted to falling behind. A minority of 13% claimed to be making progress and getting ahead financially, according to CBS News.

Biden's declining approval rating can be linked to concerns surrounding inflation and issues within the U.S. economy. Despite this, Biden maintains that his economic policies, known as "Bidenomics", are effective. Democrats associate the term Bidenomics with positive aspects like "job creation", "investment in infrastructure" and "support for the poor" and "middle class". Conversely, Republicans associate it with negative implications such as "higher inflation" and "tax increases", according to CBS News.

On its website, Americans for Prosperity has made a letter available for the public to sign and automatically send to lawmakers. The letter addresses concerns about inflation and government spending, while criticizing Bidenomics for contributing to the struggles faced by Americans. It emphasizes that the priority should be to "empower the American workforce (rather than union bosses), unleash American energy abundance (instead of engaging in a war on coal and gas) and end wasteful spending (in order to tackle inflation and lower interest rates)," according to Americans for Prosperity.

"The more money Joe Biden has the U.S. government pump into our economy, the worse the situation becomes," according to the Americans for Prosperity letter. "Yet politicians in Washington continue to use the pandemic, corporate greed and geopolitical instability to justify more runaway spending. It’s time for our government to take accountability for the out-of-control-spending and burdensome regulations that are hurting working Americans. Bidenomics is nothing to brag about."
