The Badger Institute, led by President Mike Nichols, remains committed to upholding the principles of free enterprise, liberty, and limited government. According to Nichols, the organization's recent efforts have contributed to significant changes in Wisconsin, including closing the funding gap for choice schools, repealing the personal property tax, passing free-market dental care for children, and achieving faster justice for crime victims.

Nichols highlighted that these achievements were made possible through the generosity of supporters. "Your generosity makes it possible for the Badger Institute to uphold the principles of free enterprise, liberty and limited government," he stated.

Looking ahead to 2024 policy priorities, Nichols emphasized the importance of two statewide referendums in Wisconsin's August 13 election. These referendums will ask voters to consider constitutional amendments aimed at increasing legislative oversight of federal spending. Currently, Wisconsin's governor has considerable control over federal funds regardless of party affiliation. The proposed amendments seek to introduce more accountability into this process.

"The amendments, if approved by voters," Nichols explained, "would restore some sanity to the process and hold both our governor and legislators accountable."

To support these initiatives, the Badger Institute plans a statewide campaign in July to inform voters about the referendums' significance. This campaign will underscore why a "yes" vote on both questions is crucial.

Additionally, Nichols pointed out that their ongoing efforts include providing reliable analysis and policy research through their weekly Top Picks email. Sent every Friday morning throughout the year, Top Picks offers readers in-depth journalism and investigations pertinent to current issues.

In closing his message, Nichols expressed gratitude for donations that enable impactful policy research and advocacy efforts: "Thank you for considering your donation toward our impactful policy research."
