The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is inviting applications for the role of the 78th Alice in Dairyland. The application period is open until January 31, 2025.

Alice in Dairyland serves as a spokesperson for Wisconsin agriculture, engaging with media outlets across the state, delivering speeches at events, and using social media to share stories about Wisconsin's agricultural sector. Candidates should have an interest in agriculture and at least three years of experience or education in communications, marketing, education, or public relations. Public speaking experience is also required. Applicants must be female residents of Wisconsin and at least 21 years old.

The position is a one-year full-time contract starting on July 7, 2025. The selected candidate will travel extensively within the state and will need to spend some time each week at DATCP's Madison office. The annual salary is $45,000 and includes benefits such as holiday, vacation, sick leave, use of a vehicle for official business, reimbursement for professional travel expenses, and health insurance premium coverage up to $450 per month.

Applications must include a cover letter, completed application form, resume, and contact information for three professional references by 4:30 p.m. on January 31, 2025. Preliminary interviews are scheduled for February 22, 2025. Top candidates will participate in further evaluations on March 7-8 and May 15-17 in Crawford County.
