Members of the Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA) convened on January 31 in River Falls for the installation of their 2025 leadership team, led by Michael Derrick from Derrick Building Solutions in New Richmond. During this event, awards were presented for Builder of the Year, Associate of the Year, Rising Star, and Hall of Fame.

"Homebuilding remains a strong and vital industry in Wisconsin, and we deeply appreciate our members across the state who are dedicated to expanding homeownership opportunities," stated WBA President Mike Derrick. "This year’s award recipients have set new standards in the industry, demonstrating exceptional leadership through their contributions to their businesses, communities, and our association."

Award candidates were nominated by local builders associations and selected by the WBA awards committee. The Builder of the Year and Associate of the Year represent prestigious honors within the organization. The Hall of Fame award is given to individuals with at least 20 years of continuous membership. Meanwhile, the Rising Star award acknowledges those making significant strides in advancing housing industry efforts. All recipients maintain active participation within their local associations as well as with WBA, National Association of Home Builders, and community activities.

The recipient for Builder of the Year was John Stoker from Victory Companies located in Germantown. Jody Swenson from Knight Barry Title United LLC based in Holmen received Associate of the Year recognition.

Rising Star awards were granted to Jordan Shaline from Total Service Development LLC in Green Bay and Tim Duquaine from Door Landscape and Nursery situated in Door County.

Hall of Fame honorees included Chad Wuebben from Encore Homes located in Middleton along with Michelle Beyreis representing Cumberland Federal Bank situated in Cumberland.

The Wisconsin Builders Association comprises 21 local associations focused on assisting members to build communities statewide while advocating nearly 4,000 home building industry members' interests over its long-standing history exceeding 75 years.
