Aspirus has completed the purchase of 22.1 acres in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and plans to start construction on a new hospital this spring. The facility will be situated on Chippewa Crossing Boulevard, opposite Fire Station No. 1, and near the intersection with Seymour Cray Sr. boulevards.

The initial phase of the hospital will cover approximately 27,000 square feet and include primary care, emergency services, inpatient care, basic lab and imaging capabilities. The facility will feature an emergency department with 10 treatment rooms and 10 inpatient beds. An on-site clinic with 10 treatment rooms, imaging services (X-ray and CT), laboratory services, dietary offerings, and a helipad for emergency transport needs are also planned.

Sid Sczygelski, Senior Vice President of Special Projects for Aspirus Health stated: “This project aligns with our mission to provide much-needed health care services to the community.” He added that their experience in rural and small-city health care would enable them to serve Chippewa Falls residents effectively.

Construction will begin with site preparation activities such as building new roads for better access to the hospital campus. Aspirus is collaborating with REI for civil engineering and HGA for architectural planning. The organization aims to complete the facility within 18 months or less.

Sczygelski emphasized their commitment by saying: “We are committed to meeting the health care needs of Chippewa Falls residents and providing essential services now and in the future.”
