Grant Regional Health Center has announced plans to expand its facilities in 2026. The expansion will focus on Behavioral Health, Rehabilitation, Laboratory, and Nutrition Services. This project follows a successful expansion in 2018 and aims to improve patient experiences by increasing space and enhancing facilities.
Tami Chambers, President/CEO of Grant Regional Health Center, stated: “Part of our facility is 70 years old this year and with additions and renovations to other areas of the hospital, we feel it is important to ensure the original spaces have the same efficiencies and functionality and are just as modern and up to date.” She added that the hospital's growth over the past five years necessitates more space for continued service expansion. “By increasing capacity and access, we are ensuring timely care and creating efficiencies that benefit everyone.”
The planned expansion will address Outpatient Counseling/Behavioral Health services, the Rehabilitation department, Laboratory services relocation, and upgrades to kitchen and nutritional services. The renovations aim to align with a patient-centered care approach by improving patient flow and providing modern amenities.
Key benefits outlined include expanded facilities, improved infrastructure, increased accessibility, and enhanced efficiency. Project planning will continue through 2025 with groundbreaking expected in Spring 2026. The project involves approximately 11,600 square feet of new construction alongside 16,500 square feet of renovation.
Kahler-Slater has been appointed as the architect firm for this endeavor. A general contractor will be selected soon. The work will be staged to minimize disruption with completion targeted for early 2027.
Tom Gildersleeve, President of Grant Regional’s Board of Directors remarked: “It’s an exciting time for both our patients and our community as the hospital continues to grow. We are committed to keeping everyone informed throughout each phase of the project.” He emphasized that achieving this vision requires collaboration from various stakeholders.
