Rep. Gwen Moore, a longstanding representative of Wisconsin's 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently expressed concerns on social media regarding potential changes to the Social Security Administration (SSA) and other community support systems. On March 17, 2025, Rep. Moore addressed issues related to the Social Security Administration by stating: "I’m hearing it loud and clear from Wisconsinites: They don't want Elon Musk and DOGE messing with the Social Security Administration. They want to decimate the agency’s ability to function so they can justify their end goal to end Social Security as we know it."

Later that day, she highlighted specific actions that could impact SSA operations: "Shutting off phone service Closing field offices Firing staff Their own internal memos prove that the cuts to SSA made by DOGE will be devastating to vulnerable populations — culminating in millions of Americans at risk of not being able to access their earned benefits."

In another tweet posted on March 17, 2025, Rep. Moore commented on broader implications for community support initiatives: "Undermining efforts to support local farmers, feed vulnerable communities, and improve the resiliency of the food supply chain. The textbook definition of efficiency…"
