The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has announced that Spring Thaw Class II and Posted Road restrictions for Zones 4-5 will be lifted in about 15 counties on Friday, April 11, at 12:01 a.m. For Zones 1-3, the restrictions will end based on weather conditions.

Class II roads cover approximately 1,400 miles of state highways that are vulnerable to damage from heavy truck traffic during the spring thaw as frost exits the ground. Additional details on both divisible and non-divisible load permits can be accessed online.

Decisions on implementing or removing weight restrictions from county highways, town roads, and streets in cities or villages are determined by the respective local governments.

WisDOT provides an interactive map detailing seasonal weight restrictions. Specific queries from haulers can be directed to WisDOT's Oversize/Overweight Permits Unit at (608) 266-7320 or through the oversize/overweight permits website. General road restriction information is available via a recorded message at (608) 266-8417.
