The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) held its annual State Patrol Awards Ceremony in Wisconsin Dells, recognizing the distinguished service of troopers, inspectors, and civilian staff. A total of 39 awards were presented to personnel who have stood out in their dedication to serving communities statewide.

Governor Tony Evers was present at the ceremony and shared his appreciation for the daily sacrifices made by the State Patrol staff. "Members of the Wisconsin State Patrol work every day to serve our families, our communities, and keep our roads and communities safe. I’m incredibly grateful for their service and the sacrifices they and their families make every day," he said. Governor Evers emphasized his commitment to supporting the officers and staff in their vital roles.

The ceremony acknowledged lifesaving efforts, innovative practices, and commitment to improving operations. Awards such as the Lifesaving and Meritorious Service awards were given to individuals who risked their safety for others or contributed significantly to WisDOT’s mission of creating a secure and efficient transportation system.

WisDOT Secretary Kristina Boardman highlighted the importance of the recognition, stating, "We truly value these opportunities to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of WisDOT employees who work every day to help us maintain a safe and efficient transportation system in Wisconsin." She praised the diverse roles filled by State Patrol officers, technical experts, and program managers.

State Patrol Superintendent Tim Carnahan expressed gratitude for the honorees, noting, "Each State Patrol award recipient embodies the values of our agency. They are leaders within their field. They have compassion, integrity and character."
